Captain David C. Steere, USN (Retired)
Captain David Steere retired from the United States Navy in 1995 after serving as a commanding officer and educator. He is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Mathematics. Captain Steere served 32 years, 27 as a commissioned officer. He served 18 years on naval warships as a Surface Warfare Officer and Engineering Duty Officer engaged in program management and leadership of high tech shore establishments. Captain Steere served as commanding officer at the Naval Electronic Systems Engineering Center in Charleston, South Carolina, as well as, commanding officer at the Coastal Systems Station in Panama City, Florida.
Captain Steere is currently involved with several area community service organizations and has taught classes at Gulf Coast State College and Florida State University. He is an entrepreneur who has started and managed several small businesses. Captain Steere resides in Panama City with his wife.
