Ways to Support
Scholarship Support: Your donation will help a Gulf Coast State College student help offset the cost of his/her education. A scholarship award of any amount is helpful to a student who is trying to further their education. In most cases, an endowed scholarship award will help offset 40-50% of a student’s tuition cost. An endowed scholarship will remain active in perpetuity serving deserving students for years and years. Donors are also encouraged to support the Foundation’s general scholarship fund, which provides support via book vouchers, fees, or other expenses.
Program Support: Your donation will help a Gulf Coast State College faculty or staff member enhance a student’s learning experience. Donations can be focused on any area, degree, or division within the College. Some programs that donors have created and/ or supported are Kids College, Small Business Initiative Program; Emerald Coast Bioethics Program; TRiO Mentoring Program, LEAD Coalition Program, Education Encore Program, ATC Excellence Program, WKGC-FM Radio, Natural Sciences Program, Culinary Arts Program, GCSC Athletics Program, Gulf/Franklin Center, and Surgical Technology Program.
Emergency Student Support: Your donation will help a Gulf Coast State College student help offset the cost of an unexpected emergency. Some students today are faced with uncertainties in life that may cause conflicts. Emergency support helps provide students with a means to pay for goods or services outside of College.
The Gulf Coast State College Foundation, Inc. is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing scholarship opportunities and program support for the students attending or planning to attend Gulf Coast State College.
The Foundation routinely seeks gifts from a wide variety of donors, including business, industry, other foundations, civic organizations, college employees, alumni, and other individuals. Gifts will be solicited for an acceptance by the Foundation to serve the educational purposes of the institution. The Foundation shall not accept any gifts that may jeopardize its tax-exempt status with the State of Florida or the Internal Revenue Service. Federal IRS regulations applicable to a donor may mandate that the College accept a gift directly.
It is official College policy that private funds contributed to benefit any unit of the College must be deposited with the Foundation and will be used at the discretion of the Foundation and the College in accordance with the requirements of the Donor.
It is the responsibility of the Foundation to officially record and acknowledge receipt of gifts made to the College through the Foundation, including cash, pledges, securities, real estate, and other gifts. Gifts shall be acknowledged by the Foundation and other College offices as appropriate.
